About

Established on September 1, 1971, in response to a nationwide shortage of emergency medical transportation, Acadian began with two ambulances and eight medics serving Lafayette Parish. Today, it has grown into one of the largest private ambulance services in the United States, operating across Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, and Tennessee, covering over 70 counties and parishes and serving more than 24 million residents.
